Rain has been coming down here in Northern California most of the day and not many people want to come to the hot spring. I am a gatekeeper here, also, I register folks in for a day use or camping.

As far as my project (Sustainable Agriculture in Afghanistan); one person offered help with graphic arts and computers and 2 or 3 people wished me well and gave moral support. As far as connecting to people who might want to volunteer their time, it's moving along slow. Mailed my passport to the Embassy of Afghanistan yesterday to get a visa.

I have got to stick with this project and take it one day at a time. I didn't feel any movement forward with the project. If anything it felt like a step back. Maybe a step back is good once in a while, so I can re-evaluate the direction that I am taking, it also gives time for self-reflection.

Getting envolved with this kind of project has been long overdue. I have backed out of it for too long making too many excuses for the fear of facing whatever it is that I might face. And it hasn't been fun not doing what I feel I am called to do and instead have jobs that pays the rent.

Teaching High School was okay for a year but working for a troubled public school system or any bureaucracy is not something I can do well. If I am going to stay with this project and help it grow it needs to be my own.
